Great Ideas for Twilight Party Decorations and Party Favors

Article by Andrea McClure

When you throw a Twilight bash this June there are some important things that you need to remember. You first need some great party decorations. You also need great Twilight party favors to give your guests as souvenirs of your event. The Twilight theme will have fresh material this year with the release of Eclipse the third movie in the Twilight Saga movie series. The story now centers on the unlikely alliance between the werewolf Jacob and his rival vampire Edward as they and their families join forces to protect the girl they love Bella froma a vengeful vampire named Victoria who blames Bella for the death of her mate in the first movie. This time she is not making the mistake of coming alone and is creating a powerful army of new vampires to take her out. As you can see with a plot so sighting you can’t help but find good ideas for decorations and favors.

Twilight parties as you know won’t fit the normal Horror theme. This is because the vampires and werewolves of tht Twilight saga don’t fit the normal scary sterotypes. The vampires are still deadly and dangerous but the Cullens show their human side as well. They are not portrayed as spawn of evil who are susceptible to the normal vampire weaknesses, but more like natural predators who hunt humans on varying kinds of morality. The werewolves are not savage beasts but protectors of mankind against evil vampires. So you can see why you can have more creative license. Some key decoration cues will be the colors black, red, and white. Also based on parties in the series flowers and lights play a big role in decorations.

A thing that I find to work perfectly is finding decorations that match the four different cover images of the Twilight novels. They are an apple, a red tinged white tulip, a red ribbon, and a red queen chess piece. These are simple enough that you can find a great variety of decorations that will match them. In some cases you can even combine motifs to create interesting new decorations. A good idea is to go your local craft store or dollar store and see if you can find decorative items that you can use to make unique decorations. Of course you should also make use of official Twilight gear such as posters and official Twilight party supplies.

When you have finished decorating your party space with your Twilight decorations, the rest of the party planning can fall into place. You will just need to make sure that you get some party foods, games, music, and other entertainment to keep your party interesting. Anotherthing that you can do is give amazing Twilight party favors. These are a great way to up the ante on your party. When choosing Twilight party favors you should definitely try to give gifts that are simple but have a function whether or fun or everyday life. This will make your favors gifts that your guests keep with them long after your party is finished.

In the end, use your knowledge of the Twilight series to make your party unique and special. Your fellow Twilight fans who come to your event will surely appreciate the effort and have a great time.

A guide to preparing a memorable Hens Party

You may find it surprising, but the is one of the most important get togethers that is organised pre the actual wedding.  The reason for this is that it offers the bride to be an opportunity to just stop preparing everything herself and to have a ball with her closest friends.  Forgotten are the pressures of finding decorations, confirmingbands and standing for hours on end being pricked with pins during a dress fitting.  This event is all for her.

Next, it provides an opportunity for the other guests to get to know one another and to create aconnection before the actual wedding day.  It’s also a time for the friends to open up in an environment they feel secure and the husband to be is not around.
So what are the elements of a successful hens party?

Easily the most vital consideration is the hens party theme.  This instills the feel for your event and will allow you to quite easily eradicate the ideas that won’t fit in with what you are trying to do.

Secondly you may want to determine your main venue.  Either a fine restaurant, a winery or two, a bar or at someones house.  The setting will influence what else is required and how much play could be with the opposite gender.  Half naked guys are rarely allowed at the local spa either.

The following thing to consider is your hens party games.  Which games will you get involved in, how many would match the girls and setting, and finally when you will want to start them.  A great activity used at the beginning can be the perfect ice-breaker for women that barely know one another.  Alternatively drinking games later into the hens party can really shake things up.

At the end you’ll need to think through the odd pieces that can allow others to see you as a hens party and put that added bit extra to the evening.  Think of attire thatgoes with your theme like nurse outfits, French maid costumes, or upmarket attire and then make sure there is a common connection.  You can also buy sashes or shirts that will really make you are not forgotten.

You can also get a selection of other goods from selected hens party shops that will add some spice or make things a little simpler – dare cards are usually a sensational purchase.

Once you have these things it’s really just about posting out the invites and having a great time at the event!

Top Party Food Recipes To Make Your Halloween Spectacular

Article by Jeremy Miller

Want to wow family and friends’ this Halloween? The trick here actually is to turn familiar food into a creepy creation yet still retaining its taste.

Using food coloring adds a fun and festive mood to ordinary foods, perfect for the Halloween. Cooking up Halloween party food recipes is not at all difficult. Whether you’re hosting a kiddie Halloween party or an eerie night for adults, the last thing you want is to bore your party guests with the same old treats.

Remember that celebrating the Halloween should be done the way it really should be: scary, spooky and mysterious. So how exactly can you make guests drool in the mouth on your party?

To begin with, start with exciting beverages for all ages. Give a little kick to your Halloween drinks by decorating it. For example, you can buy small plastic creepy crawlies like spiders, beetles or worms and top it on your drink. You can also put them in an ice cube container after filling it with water and then freezing them.

Serve it with drinks and your guests can actually see the spider through the ice cube. Make your party guests drink ‘dirty water’ too. How to do that? Just add sherbert to your lemonade. When mixed with regular lemonade, it turns into a grayish-brown color, much like dirty water. Moreover, add red food coloring to smoothies and you instantly have a drink that looks like real blood.

Now let’s move on to snacks and other Halloween party food. Perhaps the easiest way to bring out some spookiness to your treats is by making slimy jello. Depending on the kind of spook you want, you can go for popular Halloween colors such as green for goo, black for darkness or red for blood. Serve ‘brain matter’ using green jello or solidified blood with the red variety.

If you opt for another treat, you can never go wrong with cupcakes and decorate them with funky frostings or bake cookies and top them with edible decorations. Always make your decorations edible as much as possible. You don’t want to risk your party guests’ safety, especially curious kids who practically put just about anything in their mouths.

You can also surprise your guests with red, peeled grapes. How this works? Have them close their eyes and make them put their hands in the bowl. (Their hands must be clean, of course). Without saying to them what it is, tell them to just eat it. When it touches their mouth, tell them it’s animal eyeballs! Just for the fun of it! You’re bound to have a spooky night that’s going to scare up a lot of raves from your guests!

Six Steps To Ordering Graduation Party Invitations

With more than three million high school students graduating in the Spring in the United States each year It’s easy to see why many of us spend our Spring weekends attending graduation open houses for graduating seniors of friends and family. Graduation season is indeed fun, it can also be a bit busy and stressful if one of the students happens to be for your own senior. Decinding on your party theme does not need to be overwhelming. Just follow these steps to take you from the initial plan to mailing the invitations to sending thank you cards.

1. Party Theme

First, decide what type of graduation party you want to plan. You can hold two separate parties, one for relatives and one for friends. Another way is to hold a single large party for everyone. While some groups of families and friends allow for a formal sit-down dinner or restaurant party, others need the kind of space you find in your backyard. You can even throw a potluck supper or other type of informal affair. An open house is a flexible option if you plan to celebrate the graduation at home.

2. Create a Plan

Decide which one of you will be responsible for the graduation party.   While some graduating seniors like to be a part of the planning, others prefer to leave it up to their mom and dad. Finding out what your graduate prefers before you proceed with party arrangements will prevent disagreements.

3. Establish the Time, Date and Place

While the day of graduation is the most popular date for graduation festivities, you may wish to select an alternate date. You don’t want your guests to have to rush around to attend multiple events. You also don’t want your graduate to miss a friend’s party in order to host their own party. If you have to have the party on graduation weekend, consider Sunday afternoon. Don’t rule out the weekends before and after graduation either as they may be less hectic.  If graduation Saturday is your only option, consider an open house. Start a few hours after the graduation ceremony and party on into the early evening. This will give your guests plenty of time to stop by and enjoy your event.

4. Chose a Party Venue

Spring weather in late May and early June is generally nice in most parts of the United States. After being in-doors up all winter, having an outdoor graduation party will be wwelcomed by all who attend.  You can have your graduation gathering in the backyard, at a community center or the neighborhood swimming pool. Other popular party locations include restaurants and churches. Consider both the size of your guest list and convenience when selecting the perfect place for your party.

5. The Guest List

Who do you invite to the party? Everyone who will be happy to share in your graduate’s commencement! Standard choices are family and close friends (of both the parents and the graduate). Invite your friends, neighbors and co-workers or friends from church or the country club.

To avoid hard feelings, make sure your invitations are addressed to indicate exactly who is invited. For example, if you are inviting a friend of your graduates, you may want to address the invitation to “Harold and Patty Haines and Family,” or even just “The Haines.” If you address it with just the graduates name, the parents feel they are not invited to your event.

6. Creating, Ordering And Sending Invitations

You may be able to buy graduation party invitations from your child’s school along with graduation announcements. A more creative, personalized and generally less expensive option is to order your graduation party invitations from an online invitation and greeting card store. Design the graduation party invitation using your graduates school colors or choose one that fits with the your theme. You can even customize the invitation with a photo of your graduate.

Include all of the pertinent information about your party, including your son or daughter’s name, the date of the party, time and place of the party. You may also wish to include the school name, the graduation year and an RSVP. In general, open houses do not require an RSVP. If you are planning a formal dinner, hiring a caterer or renting a special location, you may want a pre-party count of those who plan to attend.

Send your graduation party invitations at least three weeks before your party. To accomodate out of town guests who need to make travel plans, be sure to send your invitations much earlier. If you’re short on time, some online vendors will address, print and send your graduation party invitations within one business day.

Buy a couple of extra graduation announcements or party invitations and additional extra thank you cards. Thank you cards should be written and sent no more than a month after your party. To make the process easy, create a list of who and what they gave you as you open your graduation cards.

Each gift, whether sent by mail or delivered in person, should be acknowledged with a thank you card. Write about the specific gift in your note. If you receive money, do not mention the specific amount, but do mention how you intend to spend your graduation gift.

Get Work-To-Party Gorgeous

Your Body

Tactical Fragrancing

To smell great from dawn ‘till dusk, start layering on scent in the morning by using a shower gel that matches your fragrance. It prepares your skin to hold fragrance for longer by forming an acidic protective shield. Also spritz fragrance before applying body cream. The alcohol in fragrance can destroy the skin-softening benefits of your body cream so spray it on, allowing the alcohol to fully evaporate before smoothing on your cream. The best places to fragrance for a really long-lasting scent are inside your wrists and elbows, the dip of your collarbone, nape of the neck, behind the knees, and in your navel.

Quick Pre-Party Pluck

Messy brows can really ruin a look. Pluck in good light with tweezers and a hand mirror – do this at least a couple of hours before you go out, in case of swelling or irritation around the follicle. Following the natural shape of your brows, stretch the skin and pluck any stray hairs from underneath, alternating between left and right as you go. To ‘dress’ them up for the evening, use a brow shadow to make them one shade darker. Dab a little highlighter along the base of each brow to define the arch then finish with a slick of brow gel to fix everything in place.

Mission Manicure

Some women think that if their make-up and clothes look good then their nails won’t get noticed. But after our faces, hands and nails are the most noticed parts of our bodies. If you’ve got 10 minutes to give nails a lick of paint, great (and you can always use an instant drying mist to speed things up.) If not, get rid of old polish, make them look clean and give them a trim. Consistency is the name of the game. Carry a nail file with you so all your nails are always the same shape and size.

Your Hair

Fast ‘dos’ For Office Locks

Super-speedy party style suggestions. Straight hair? Mist it with hairspray, backcomb it from the crown by about 5cm, smooth the surface with a comb then pull the length into a ponytail and then into a bun. Curly hair? Refresh curls with a little mousse. Just scrunch it through. Want waves? Add texture with wax. Throw your head forwards, pull sections outwards away from your head, then straighten your head back up and twist small sections for a tousled look. In a hurry? Just change the side your hair is parted on, and you’ll be surprised at how many people ask you what you’ve done differently with your hair.

Your Make-Up

Always Pack A Concealer

If you can only fit one piece of make-up into your party clutch, make it concealer. It’s an office-to-party essential, making you look like you’ve had eight hours of sleep when you’ve only had three! For your office to party preparations, look for a yellow-based concealer that matches your skin tone. Dab under the eye and don’t forget the innermost corner of your eye, which is often darkest. To look wide-awake when you’re feeling tired, and short of time, use a shimmery neutral-coloured eye shadow on the eyelids. It will add light to your eyes, and make you seem more awake than you really are.

From Office Pale To Party Glow

Days spent at your desk don’t really do much for your ‘tan’, so fake it. If you’re short of time, it’s one of the best things you can do make-up wise. Apply a light dusting of bronzer around your hairline, over both cheeks and blend well over your forehead, then follow with a pop of pink blusher on the apples of both cheeks. It’ll revive pale or partied out skin in an instant.

No Time? Focus On One Feature

The fastest way to get a glamorous party look is to go for sexy, smoky eyes. It’s bang on trend, really easy to do and suits absolutely everyone! Use Chanel Les Quatre Ombres de Chanel in Vanites. It contains the perfect neutral to wash over your eyelids, and a dark grey to build up a more dramatic party look. Finish with a few coats of your favourite mascara. Another way to look glam in an instant is to use a bright lipstick. However, if using one, don’t go too heavy on the eye make-up. One standout feature is enough.

Miracle Multi-Taskers

If you don’t want to heave all your make-up around the dance floor, then invest in some mini multi-tasking make-up that will fit into your bag. The Realness Of Concealness Mini “Fake It” Kit by Benefit is good. This little box contains a brightening eye cream, lip plumper, concealer, an under-eye “de-puffer” plus a little tube of Highbeam, to brighten you up when you feel your complexion is starting to flag. And – the best news – it fits in even the tiniest of clutch bags.

Your Clothes

Pack Well

The best dress for going straight from office to party is a plain wrap dress – they suit everyone, are easy to pack, don’t crease and can be dressed up or down. If you’re more of a jeans and heels girl, a wrap top is as good – they’re the perfect “take anywhere, anytime” piece. To avoid wrinkles, pack lightly but tightly. Your garment should be snug in the bag, not squashed. Lay it flat and fold the arms and skirt to make a rectangle shape. Next, roll your dress up tightly to avoid creases or fold marks, and fit snuggly into your bag.

Dress It Up With Accessories

Take a black jersey tunic or wrap dress and then you can add the ‘Wow’ factor with heels and a striking necklace. A cute clutch, some glitzy heels and an oversized ring can easily transform a simple office outfit into a sassy look ready for a party. Or try a spangly scarf for instant A-list glamour.

Summer Garden Parties

Nothing says summer like gathering your friends for a picnic and Pimms. Below is the perfect recipe for a successful summer bash.

1. Location

Choose a place that has a lot of visual stimulation. Somewhere on water, or in a beautiful botanical garden. Ensure that there is enough seating for everyone, and if not bring large picnic blankets so people are comfortable to kick off their shoes and get comfy in the grass.

2. Guest list

Garden parties can be small and intimate or large and elegant. Design your invitations according to the guest list. If it’s just a small picnic then maybe a funny email would suffice. If it’s a birthday, graduation, or wedding choose something chic in the colours of the flowers.

3. Activities

No matter the size or occasion, there should be something for everyone to do. If the location is more private, music and dancing is always a fun choice. A maypole can be a fun and interactive way to get all of your guests up and moving. It’s a great activity for people of all ages, but if the children aren’t getting involved, try setting up a game of croquet.

4. Food

The best part about summer is that everyone is in the mood for something light. If the space is available, set out a spread of delicious summer salads. Some greens, a pasta salad, and maybe a quiche. If the party is smaller, some cut vegetables, dip, cheese, bread, and grapes can never go wrong.

5. Drinks

A picnic might call for a cooler of cold beer and white wine that can be lightened with a splash of soda water. A large, catered party should serve daytime cocktails such as white wine spritzers, Pimms, mojitos, and beer.

6. Dress

A fancy day party should be attended in white or colour. Never black, never grey, never anything dreary or boring, it is summer after all. If you’re hosting a picnic or backyard barbecue, try not to stress about dress. Guests will arrive in whatever they’re comfortable in.

7. Gift bags

Guests of a summer wedding can go home with centre-pieces, a bag of candied nuts, or perhaps a summer kit complete with lotions and blocks. Gifts aren’t really necessary for a less formal affair, but if you’d like, taking polaroid pictures of everyone throughout the day is fun and makes a great little token for them to take home.

8. In case it rains

Most high-end day events usually take place under a canopy, but really all should if there is any call for rain. The most beautiful brise-soleils and canopies are now available and can be customized to suit any style or event.

Summer is always the best time to have a party. Even if there is no occasion, summer itself is reason enough to celebrate. Chin chin!

Also, they can add a picture easily. A photo of the guest of honor would make the perfect addition. If the party is for a house warming, then a picture of the new place would be great. No matter what the occasion images and pictures can make the stationery something truly special. Thankfully, this option doesn’t cost extra and neither does adding custom Wording Party Invitations.

Try a Tasty Sponge Cake for Your Summer Garden Party

One of the great traditions in England on a summer’s day is for friends to get together on a warm afternoon and socialise in the garden. A get together can often start mid-afternoon and as the conversation flows, drift on well into the evening, barbecues are, of course, popular in many family homes but these can so often be impromptu affairs. Just stick the coals on, grab a couple of beef burgers and a few sausages with a salad and the food is ready for the children to devour when they get home from school.

For those that are looking to do something that little different could be an afternoon tea party with cake, a glass of wine or Champagne with it and the tea pot on stand by for that refreshing cuppa. As for what to eat – then there has to be cucumber and salmon sandwiches, home-made egg sandwiches and some nibbles, however, what truly sets off the garden party is cake but that isn’t just ordinary cup cakes or those grabbed off the supermarket shelf, but an exceptionally tasty sponge cake. It just seems perfect for the occasion.

Amazingly, it can be so convenient to buy a great sponge cake now for those who are not confident enough to have a go at baking them. You can Buy Cake Online and then have the cakes delivered fresh to your doorstep in time for your guests arriving for afternoon tea.

A good garden party takes some preparation in making sure that you have enough seats for your guests, making the sandwiches and nibbles and even ensuring you have a selection of tea, while traditional English breakfast tea is always popular there may be guests who may wish to enjoy Darjeeling, Earl Grey or even fragrant fruit teas, so be ready for all requests.

While you are busy making sandwiches, expect a Cake Delivery with the sponge cake that will inevitably become a central talking point later in the day, and then all you have to do is what everyone who organises an outdoor summer event in England does – keep your fingers cross for fine sunny weather!
